The Inn At Truckee offers an affordable base for exploring the Tahoe area, particularly for skiers and snowboarders. While some guests appreciate its proximity to resorts and downtown Truckee, recent reviews highlight significant issues with customer service, outdated facilities, and inconsistent cleanliness. The property’s remote location and lack of amenities beyond basic necessities also contribute to mixed feedback.
Worst customer service we have ever experienced. Cinthya Diaz was utterly disrespectful and dismissive when we raised concerns about not being informed that the hotel was short-staffed and that our rooms would not be serviced. We would have had absolutely no issue understanding the situation had it been communicated in a courteous and professional manner — instead, we were met with eye rolls and a complete lack of basic customer service standards. She first said it was hotel policy and when she wasn't able to point out where we could see this, she said it was because they were short staffed. The hotel is not worth the price under any circumstances, and even less so when paired with this level of service. It is particularly disappointing that, despite speaking our language, she refused to assist us in our preferred language. This kind of experience is especially disheartening in such a wonderful community like Truckee, which deserves far better representation. I would not recommend this hotel even as a last resort. Respect, kindness, and courtesy should always come first — and that was entirely absent here.
Beds were comfy, thin windows, and the shower didn't drain. Breakfast is all plastic wrapped and one day nobody came to put it out. But it's cheap and close to Tahoe slopes so...
i had such a wonderful stay here! the check in process was so easy, the staff was so kind, and the amenities were great. the rooms were clean and spacious. such a perfect location for a ski weekend, and super close to downtown truckee too, very cute spot. i would 100% recommend this place.
amazing place! lovely rooms, staff, and location- super close to the ski resorts and central to the restaurants & shops. perfect spot for a family or friend trip. will be booking again!
Absolutely Disappointed! We booked our stay for Dec 24 and even paid extra for the flexibility to cancel before Dec 23 4 PM, in case something unexpected happened with our Sugar Rush snow tubing plans. Well, guess what? A severe snowstorm hit, and our excursion was canceled at 3:58 PM on Dec 23 via email. We saw the email just minutes later—too late to cancel this stay under the above policy. We immediately called the property, explained the situation, and even though we were getting ZERO refund, we still canceled so the room could be freed up for others. All we asked for was basic consideration—a reschedule, credit, anything—given we paid nearly $400 and had clear evidence of why we couldn’t stay. Instead, we got absolutely no empathy, no flexibility, nothing. This is the first time I’ve seen a business show 0% regard for customers who act in good faith and think about both sides of the transaction!
Booked this place for Tahoe Live, and the stay was great (Palisades is super close by)! I was a little wary at first regarding their past reviews, but it seems like they've improved greatly. Rooms were comfortable and appropriate for the price. I mean, there's nothing to complain about unless you expect it to be some luxury hotel. The staff was very nice, and check-in was easy. Stores around are very accessible and close by. The heating in the room was very quick and didn't have to wait long for the water to heat up either. Sheets and everything were clean in the room. The breakfast are to-go items, but that's okay because it was stated on the booking site, and they have a 24-hour complimentary coffee/espresso machine, which is helpful.
Our stay at this inn was exceptional. The room was modern, comfortable, and meticulously maintained. Security felt excellent throughout our visit. Dining was a highlight, with delicious meals and expertly crafted drinks. The staff were warm, attentive, and helpful in organizing a special surprise, making the experience completely stress-free. Memorable touches like plush robes, evening drinks, and a serene lounge added to the charm. The location offered peace and quiet while still being convenient. This combination of comfort, safety, excellent food, and outstanding service made our weekend truly unforgettable. We cannot wait to return.
Very satisfied with our stay here. It was exactly what we needed – nothing more, nothing less. Easy parking, efficient staff, working internet, normal room. No frills, just a very simple room setup. Perfectly clean, had towels and the other basics. The only complaint was that the walls were quite thin, so we could hear the hallway very clearly which woke us up.
Super cute room, easy check in. It was nice staff was very friendly as well! Easy to walk for a quick bite as well. Definitely recommend!
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We were traveling with an infant and originally planning to stay in a queen room, the receptionist recommended we upgrade to a king so it wouldn't be so cramped and I'm glad we did. We also checked in just after 10pm and they waited for us. Super kind. Very nice little Inn, and much more affordable than anything actually at lake Tahoe.
