Tried booking on VRBO due to an unusually good deal (great cost). Called VRBO to make sure it was valid and not a scam. VRBO told me to contact the host. I called this host at least 5x before getting anyone, only to be told that the price was incorrect so I should cancel and rebook. When I asked to speak to the manager to try to resolve the issue, he denied responsibility and directed me back to VRBO. Further, he accused me of trying to take advantage of the wrong price. Accusing the customer is never a great idea, especially when she is doing due diligence on a reservation. I responded that I wasn’t asking for the listed price but what he could do to help me. Still, he refused to apologize or suggest a solution other than talk to VRBO. Fernando was very rude, and unhelpful. Now I’m waiting to see if he cancels my reservation. Don’t go here unless you want to support a business who really doesn’t care about your satisfaction as the paying customer.

We stayed in a super cool studio condo *134 bldg C* at Donner Lake Village and had a great experience. The location was perfect—right next to the parking lot and just steps from the beach. The condo had updated amenities, a very comfortable bed, and a nice TV with lots of channels. Everything was convenient and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this specific room and the whole experience at Donner Lake Village overall.

Not good if you have trouble walking. The first floor of the one building has 4 non standard steps that have too high tread height And the depth is probably 7 inches vs the standard 10 inches, forcing you to walk up the steps sideways

Stayed in a studio with kitchenette, which was roomy with a good bed. Some of the kitchen utensils were worn and could use replacement, but they served for some very basic cooking. Can't speak for the noise insulation since my stay was mid-week with very few neighbours. I was there in the cold season, and the heater has a fan that's pretty loud when it comes on. You can turn it off in the evening, but there's a choice to either let it get cold or have that fan coming on every few hours. I sleep with earbuds so it didn't bother me much, but otherwise that would've been pretty annoying. The cancellation policy is ridiculous, and I'm not talking about getting a refund if one gets snowed in and can't make it on the day, but getting little to nothing back weeks in advance. Funny considering the website touts "Flexible Cancellation Options". Those were some specific concerns, and if they're not a big deal this can be a quite nice place to stay. I'd probably come back if I'm in the area and don't _actually_ need flexible cancellation options.

Great reasonably priced room. Right on with private beach and dock. Close to downtown and local ski resorts. Stayed in Room 215 which has been recently remodeled. Not all rooms have. Beautiful fireplace lounge overlooking lake and sauna.

We absolutely LOVE Donner Lake Village. Scenic views and convenient location, this is our go-to place to stay in Tahoe. Located just a few minutes from both downtown Truckee and Donner Summit ski resorts, we love coming here in both summer and winter. Clean rooms and common areas with spectacular views. Our personal favorite is unit #134 for its cozy vibes and easy access.

We love this place. The amazing lakefront location is perfect for water activities. It’s a short drive to world class ski resorts during the winter. The room was recently updated and has a full kitchen.

What a magnificent location for peace and relaxation. I have been there many different times during the year and cherish them all. In the summer there is the lake and in the winter the lovely snow. The staff is friendly and the manager Fernando really cares about the people staying there. Shirley was as pleasant as an anyone can be and high five to Karen in the front desk who helped me find restaurant and gave me other local tips.There is also saunas that I use often and the various common living rooms where you can be by the fire and watch the ducks on the lake. Highly recommend !

This place is an unbelievable hidden gem. We have passed by Donner Lake for over 20 years and didn’t realize that Donner Lake Village was there. Seems like the majority of rooms I have seen have been recently remodeled and well cared for and many have a lake or partial lake views. We especially like the easy access to many ski resorts and very close to downtown Truckee. Make sure to check out the fireplace room overlooking the lake.The staff here is friendly, professional and very accommodating. This will definitely be our go to place and being a lake front property we plane to return this summer.
