Village Camp Truckee-Tahoe offers a modern and well-equipped glamping experience with a range of cabin and RV options, catering to both families and individuals. While some guests praise the cleanliness, amenities, and convenient location, others have expressed concerns about bed quality, potential for dust, and a somewhat isolated setting lacking a true ‘woods’ ambiance. The customer service is consistently highlighted as a strong point, particularly the friendly breakfast staff.
Everything is great, super modern, nicely design. However, for $395/night, and we stayed 3 nights, the bed failed on us. One of the twin size bed crashed after my kid stand on it. I lifted the mattress and tried to figure out the reason and learned that even though the bedframe use real wood the bed slat was from Ikea and it was neither in place or being fixed in position. And the slat was completely crashed on the floor. No wonder the mattress crash down because it had no support. My husband and I rebuild the bed slat ourselves. While we were build it, we saw the floor was full of dust. With the price we’re paying, we expected better mattress. The queen mattress was uneven, the twin mattress was squeaky. Believe or not, the mattress is not the worst, the bedding is the worst. Every time when I turned my body the quilt moved with me. Again, with the charge, they should have higher quality bedding. We stayed in Northstar resort for 3 years and thought we could try different hotel this time, and the low quality mattress and bedding failed on me badly compared to Northstar resort that we stayed with lower cost per night. Service is not so good or warm. It’s job for them. However, whoever they hired for Saturday breakfast are awesome, best BF I had for a long time, you can tell they loved serving their customers period. If I have to go back again, I will only book Friday night for Saturday BF. You can’t find it anywhere. Location is not bad, but not really in a woods. The side of cabin we stayed, there are trailer house behind us, we can’t really take nice photos from the window. Compared to auto camp experience, this is not a real in the woods experience.
I don’t write reviews much at all. But I was so pleasantly impressed with the accommodations and staff. The accomodations had very comfortable bedding, linens, towels. All amenities and features were available. The staff made it a seamless process to checking in and out and every need in between. The location is close to downtown truckee and the main highway. Very convenient. I would definitely stay again.
This is an absolutely wonderful place! The layout is super for traveling in groups with the way two units are able to face each other and to have tables in between. The close location to the Donner Pass museum and trail fit right in with our travel plans. Again, great place and the lady checking us in was so much help and has a wonderful personality! Put this location on your favorites should you be in the Truckee area.
We loved Glamping in our Airstream here at Truckee Village Camp RV. It’s so nice, clean and beautiful. The staff here is amazing. My husband was especially impressed with Alex who went above & beyond for us. We enjoyed the free Saturday breakfast that had a wide variety of delicious breakfast choices. We came here with several of our best friends, who also thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We will definitely be back many times.
Amazing RV camp grounds. Very clean and modern. Bathrooms are big and well keep. The grounds are well maintained. Beautiful Big grassy Dog park. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bonus: Our Saturday complementary Breakfast was fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit and yogurt. Great conversation with other RV travelers. Highly recommend staying here.
FIRE SUE ALREADY! It’s sad to see from past reviews that this place has been receiving complaints about Sue and her brother for over 12 years and they are still here wreaking havoc on the people who stay here. I met 2 people who left because of Sue and her constant abuse and several others who have experienced the same. I have witnessed her trashing the residents in public, yelling at residents to move their RVs literally inches for the most absurd reasons that make zero sense after being told how to park when arriving. She is beyond rude. Aside from that her and her brother literally barricade people in their sites with walls of snow. They will come after you clear your drive and plow back and forth creating a wall of boulders undoing your work. And they obviously do it to the people they don't like and keep their ally’s driveways more clear. Sue will also make up rules to harass people but only apply them to some as there are clearly others not following the made up rules that are not documented in the rule book. I don’t know why she has been kept around so long. I thought maybe it was because she did a good job at managing the property but I am now doubting that as you can’t drive on the grounds when it snows, people are constantly getting stuck, the trash is completely snowed over so you can’t throw anything away, they don’t put any salt anywhere so people are slipping and falling left and right. You can’t access common areas because you would have to trek through waist deep snow. Even the wheelchair ramp is completely snowed over. The sites flood when it rains and in some sites your RV will be completely surrounded by a pool of water. She refuses to address issues brought to her about sites. I could go on and on about how poorly Sue manages the grounds. Outside of Sue and her Brother the rest of the staff is amazing. Alex is great, the other grounds workers are fantastic and hard workers. The facilities are clean, and the women in the office are all friendly and helpful. This place could be so enjoyable if you listened to all the complaints about Sue. Your business would be much better off.
We enjoyed our stay at this cute modern place. It was a small place but didn’t feel like it. The kids enjoyed the upstairs loft bedroom. We roasted s’mores over the fireplace outside. The place has all the modern amenities. We will be back next year.
Came to stay in the new adventure cabins for a holiday ski weekend. Our stay could not have been any better. Cabin had every amenity you could imagine - roomy fridge, induction range, dishwasher, washer/dryer, coffee machine, automatic blinds. The bathroom even had heated floors. Location was a short 10 minute drive to Boreal Ski Resort, and an even shorter drive to downtown Truckee. Will definitely come back.
We love staying here whenever we get the chance. Family of 4 with a 3 and 5 year old it’s our best chance at a productive ski weekend. Plug in for the night and up to the sugarbowl ASAP. Just saw the propane refill station this trip and will be using it in the future for sure! Also want to do some summer camping to enjoy all you have to offer. Thanks!
Alex and his team are truly the best! Both my family and my sister’s family have fallen in love with this RV park—it feels like home rather than just a place to park. The incredible hospitality and genuine care from the front office staff make all the difference. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back again and again.
